What do you do ???

I've just sorted my wardrobe and done a pile on ironing - I hate ironing!

Just binge watched don’t fuck with cats on netflix and now I’m traumatised and defying sleeping 😳

JustASmallTownCurl · 03/01/2020 04:16

I am losing my mind tonight.

Nothing is working so I've gone into "fuck it, MN it is" mode.

I am going to feel like shit tomorrow. Again.

Why do our sodding brains do this to us. I don't mind as much when there's a clear reason, when it's random it's even more frustrating.

Glenthebattleostrich · 03/01/2020 04:20

I watch crap TV, then feel exhausted by 5:30 when I have to get up ☹️

I'm about to get up and tidy the house before the cleaner comes in tomorrow at 8:15. Working 1-5 tomorrow so hopefully can snooze a little in the morning.

It’s usually down to stress for me. Currently in the running for a new job I really want and I’m incredibly anxious about it. Hope we all manage to get some sleep. Thankfully I’m not back at work until the 6th so it’s not too bad if I don’t sleep at a reasonable time but I’m hoping I can get hack into a routine by Sunday

Glenthebattleostrich · 03/01/2020 04:24

Think I'm going to push through for the day and try a bath and early night tonight. Double up on my asthma meds too as sometimes that's what wakes me.

Flurgle · 03/01/2020 04:55

No idea why. I’ve given up and made a coffee though. I never actually get up and do stuff, just lie around getting annoyed.
Jealous of snoring dog next to me Envy

Having officially given up, I just ventured to the fridge and am now back in bed eating a chunk of cheese the size of my fist.

If I can't sleep then I can't have cheese induced nightmares.

In your FACE science.

I very rarely have insomnia. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I had it. I usually fall asleep within 10 mins of closing my eyes and although I toss and turn a bit during the night, I sleep pretty well.

Tonight I went to bed at 11pm feeling knackered, and was still wide awake at 2.30am, so decided to come downstairs and watch boring TV until I felt tired. STILL wide awake, for fuck sake. No idea why. I did drink a lot of tea and coffee yesterday, but then I do most days.

I really feel for those of you who suffer from this a lot. I don’t have work today so hopefully can have a nap later, but my GOD it’s been a long and frustrating night.

MurrayTheMonk · 03/01/2020 05:12

My insomnia is the worst it's been since I was 17 currently-so 23 years of not being able to sleep well. Work will be fun today. Sigh.
I've been reading since 3am-now finished my book ( I read a lot of books because I'm never bloody asleep). Thinking about getting up and starting to take Christmas stuff down for a bit before I have to get ready for work.

I had insomnia from 44 years old until 49 years old. Partly caused by caring for I'll parents, possibly peri-menopause and a job that I enjoyed, but which had lots of strong characters in the team and an everyday battle of wills. It also involved time-sensitive logistics. I changed jobs and have slept straight through like a baby every night since.
You might need to change something in your life to break the insomnia cycle. If it doesn't happen at the weekend, I'd say look at your job.
