Split lip won't heal - two months in

Hi all,

My lip split when I was away skiing (just because of cold/chapped) but ever since it just WILL NOT HEAL.

I have Carmel, blistex, medicated balms and ointments etc and am applying a lot and it still won't go away. I tried not using any for a week incase it was making it worse and it split so bad it bled.

It just won't close! And every so often I'll laugh or go to take a bite of something and the bit of healing it's done will rip anew.

Anyone had this and managed to heal this? It's been 2 months! I got it in November and it's really sore everyday....

I did have this once YEARS and YEARS ago. I basically applied tons of very thick lip balm, rarely went outside in the cold, wore a scarf up quite high to my mouth to prevent it getting cold and dry and barely spoke for a week.
If you've done this then I think its reasonable to go to the doctor and seek advice as they may have a steroidal cream that works better.
