If you have an awesome fake Christmas tree, what’s the make and model?

Every year I say I’ll look for a fake tree in the post Christmas sale, and every year we end up with the increasingly sad Tesco special that’s in the loft. This year I actually want to do it.

Just been looking at balsam hill and they have a few that look lovely but I know reviews are mixed depending on model.

Need 6-7’ and ideally slimline / narrow.

Tell me what you’ve got if you love it

It's not a narrow one, but we bought our Balsam Hill Vermont White Spruce (6.5', Full 53", Candlelight LED) 8 years ago and love it.

@nocluewhattodoo the BH trees are supplied with a sturdy bag. But they are very heavy so it'll be a 2 man job getting it up the loft ladder. I don't do attics so it'll be DH's job to find a home for it while I make encouraging noises from below....

Mine is the BH 6ft European Silver Fir. It is quite narrow and very lovely.

@Hullabalooo I love prelit as its easier, but I have problems with my hands and wrists so it makes my life far easier so worth a lot to me.

nocluewhattodoo · 02/01/2020 21:34

Ah thanks @Myimaginarycathasfleas but no loft here as we're in a flat. Is the bag itself massive? Bigger than a large suitcase?

SinkGirl · 02/01/2020 21:57

Ooh such lovely trees! I’m going to keep browsing, there’s a couple of BH ones that I think look lovely, so I’ll see what else is around in the next couple of days before their sale ends. Interesting that someone got one even cheaper in November, maybe I should hold off!

We got ours from the White Company in November with 25% off. You can usually find discount vouchers throughout the year. Think they only do one model in various different sizes. We went for pre lit and it looks fab!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 02/01/2020 23:18

@nocluewhattodoo I'll have to check how big the bag is - we haven't packed the tree away yet. I would say longer and thinner than a big suitcase.

@SinkGirl just checked my receipt and I ordered my tree on 10 November, I paid £279 for it.

Horsemad · 02/01/2020 23:44

White Company trees are very realistic.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 04/01/2020 17:44

Update for @nocluewhattodoo. Our Balsam Hill tree, when bagged, is still massive. It took two of us to heave it into the loft. If you’re short of storage it probably isn’t the tree for you.

Another one with the B&Q Thetford here and I love it.
