Third throat infection in three months

Morning folks. I've woken up with my third throat infection of the winter. I'm generally very run down and have not been keeping well on and off since Oct. The last time I was at the GP it was because it had gone into my ear and I had an ear infection. They were rely ta to give me anything other than a nasal spray. I'm sick of being sick. Any suggestions?

Might be a weird question but have you recently started a new relationship? Whenever I do, I'm horribly ill for the first six months or so. I'm not sure if it's the exposure to the new "germs" or just that in the first throes you don't look after yourself as well as when you're single. In any case I totally recommend lots of rest- as in more than 8 hours if you can sleep that long, plenty of fruit and veg and cut out alcohol for a bit even if you don't drink much. Multivitamins also won't hurt

Thanks @kitk I'm single for nearly a year so it's not that. I'm definitely in need of a dietary overhaul and the booze needs to go, although I'm not drinking huge amounts. But that's just Christmas - before that I was pretty good drink and diet wise. But I've been ill since Oct! I'm fed up with it.

Less sugar. Wash your hands when you return home from anywhere. Regularly clean the things you touch often- phone, lights, faucet, inside your car, water bottle, bags, etc.

Have you had a dental check up recently? I had a painless abscess for several months and had constant throat infections and was generally picking up everything going. Had my tooth extracted and haven’t had a single throat infection since and only an odd cold, that was three years ago.

@cakeandchampagne talk to me about the sugar- I'm not consciously eating a lot (more of a savoury person) but have been eating more recently. The hygiene stuff I'm pretty on top of...
