Relaxing YouTube channels?

I was wondering what YouTube channels you watch that you find relaxing? Something to watch when the stress of life is getting you down. I find late night television a bit depressing so I like to watch light fun things.

I like this channel called 'What's for Tea'. It's a Scottish women who basically talks about what she has made for tea. I have no idea why I find it so relaxing, I just do.

I also like Hope for Paws, which is a dog rescue charity in America. They find homeless dogs, take them in and give them baths and a safe place to live. I love seeing the dogs becoming all happy and clean again.

I also like Townsends which is another American channel, but it's about the 18th century. Real variety of topics, very gentle channel.

Interesting-I’ve never thought of looking on YouTube for this kind of thing so I’m keen to see what others say too. I usually end up just sticking on an episode of pointless or a feel good film I’ve seen a million times

Or this one

Drecci · 01/01/2020 23:26

I was going to say ASMR too, particularly Maria from that clip. She's amazing!

MorrisZapp · 01/01/2020 23:28

Audrey Coyne, she talks about personal style, minimalism etc. I'm not interested in her clothes as they're oddly conservative, but her delivery and editing are hypnotic. I watch for hours!

applepineapple · 01/01/2020 23:30

Baumgartner Restoration. Really interesting art restoration videos - he also does ASMR versions

Scoffingaftereights · 02/01/2020 01:12

My self reliance. Its a guy in Canada in the middle of nowhere, he started building his wood cabin and now he's been building an outdoor kitchen and sauna ans all sorts of other bits. It is so relaxing to watch.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 02/01/2020 01:40

Yellow Brick Cinema - lots of streaming of relaxing music with scenic views to relax the mind

bruce43mydog · 02/01/2020 01:44

Hazel Maria Wood she's good to listen to on YouTube 😊 talks about her life and gives great advice on everyday life.

anxyinmypantsy · 02/01/2020 01:50

At bedtime if I can’t sleep I listen to Michael Sealey, I just find his voice so relaxing. My husband says it’s strange and it sounds like there is someone in our bed but I never get to listen to much of it as I drift off to sleep so quickly! There are loads of different ones on his YouTube channel

Stayinyourfridge · 02/01/2020 02:01

Five two love

A family in Utah - who after experiencing infertility when trying for a third child ended up with Quints.

Dad is very funny but both parents and the older brothers are touchingly kind and gentle and positive with the Quints who are now around 20 months old.

@Scoffingaftereights
Thank you for this recommendation...I love this! Smile

isabellerossignol · 02/01/2020 13:39

There is a Japanese ASMR cookery channel, I'm not sure what it is called though, but it is mesmerising. Everything looks so beautiful and perfect and then it has these really exaggerated mixing sounds.

Scoffingaftereights · 02/01/2020 13:40

No worries! I'm addicted to his channel, so relaxing and interesting! I'm always amazed by what he creates and jealous of his beautiful golden retriever!

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 02/01/2020 13:40

Shamelessly following for inspiration as I love watching random youtube channels!
Mine are mainly cooking ones, so I love the sound of the Scottish lady talking about what she's made for tea, going to have to go check that one out Smile

ShristmasChopper · 02/01/2020 13:46

I enjoy travel vloggers although some are a bit self congratulating. You need to watch a few to find one that's a good fit for you. I've learnt so much about places. I love the escapism.

WeeM · 05/01/2020 23:48

Going to give one of these a go tonight as I can’t sleep and need to get up at stupid o clock...might try the art guy

FruityWidow · 06/01/2020 00:20

What Vivi did next. A lady living in London who grows all her own food on her allotment. She's very chatty and lovely it's like chatting with my nana.

Pavlova31 · 06/01/2020 00:22

Don Coffey. He has a channel and is a train driver. No verbal commentary just the camera filming the train from the Cab. Gliding between the stations and sometimes nice scenery too. I find watching the journeys a nice way to unwind and relax at the end of the day Smile

Pavlova31 · 06/01/2020 00:26

I like the sound of the ideas already given. The Scottish lady sounds nice Smile

247SylviaPlath · 06/01/2020 00:36

Try Robbie Knox, I find them relaxing and funny...you will initially find yourself asking why you're watching a video entitled 'taking the bins out' but if you want an antidote to most of the self aggrandising on YouTube, he's your man. You can start at the beginning or anywhere in between. My husband thinks I have lost the plot with my vIewing habits but he is wrong...

Pavlova31 · 06/01/2020 00:57

Also Prior Attire. A lady who makes historical clothes of times past and also demonstrates how they were worn.

WeeM · 06/01/2020 22:58

I tried Michael Sealey last night as I wanted to listen rather than watch. I felt totally wide awake and was a bit sceptical but do you know what, I did fall asleep Grin. I did wake up again because I had my earphones in but I was so tired by then I just fell right back asleep again...mission accomplished thanksStar
