Mini break near the M40

So I'm looking to stay somewhere not too far off the M40 for a couple of nights before flying from Heathrow. We're driving from the North. 2 kids, aged 3 and 6. Me and DM and DF. It will be July.

Any ideas for something fun to do, not too expensive?

I need both hotel and activity recommendations please Wine

Warwick Castle.

Wonderful day out. We don't live too far from it and love it.

They have onsite accommodation. But plenty of options in the area.

Ooh, that sounds good for the kids, thanks Mary 👍

Are you National Trust members? If so maybe South Bucks area? Cliveden is NT and has a fabulous kids adventure playground and maze, as well as the fabulous grounds. That one day and thw sublime Bekonscot Model village another. A fair few travel lodges/Premier Inns about.

You can always stay at Legoland near Windsor - very handy for Heathrow!

Yes LEGOLAND/Windsor also a great shout.

Worth looking into Merlin passes if you fancy there and Warwick.

We've had ours a few years now and love them.

I second visiting Bekenscot Model Village. It's in Beaconsfield which is near High Wycombe.
