Deleting old threads

Yet again, I've responded to a thread that is many years old .
I didn't notice the date, & neither did other posters.

Why aren't these threads deleted?

Because they might help somebody else in future. Or the OP might like to reflect. And it's a huge admin job for MN on top of everything else they do.
