Loch Lomond

We're planning 3 days in Loch Lomond, then 4 days on the Isle of Skye then 3 days somewhere between Skye and Newcastle on the way home, later this year. Looking for recommendations of where to stay, hotels, things to do, things to see etc.

TIA

I'd be tempted to do Skye first - then you just visit Loch Lomond on the drive back down for the 3 days.

The Isle of Arran is really nice too.

Is Newcastle your end point or do you need to drive further south after that?

We live in Newcastle. We need to break up the journey as I have back problems, and we'd like to see more of Scotland.

Newtonmore / Kingussie are lovely, id recommend them on the way back from Skye. The eastern side of Scotland has better roads than the west - we do both sides regularly and hate the pot holes and uneven surfaces all the way up the west side. The views are great, but we can drive out to them during the day. On the journey I want simple and comfortable a to b.

Stop in Edinburgh on the way back - it’s gorgeous
