Just back from glorious 12k but just didn’t pass a soul! Where were all the runners?!

There must be someone who’s been out and if so - wasn’t it a lovely way to start the new year!!

Been at first parkrun today and now waiting for second one which starts at 10.30.

Pinkvici22 · 01/01/2020 10:09

Still in my PJs so I won’t make it to Parkrun but I’ll be going out for a 5-8k when I’ve taken the Christmas trees down!

Ronnie27 · 01/01/2020 10:10

Heading out on the bike shortly but dh and I have agreed to do that run every day thing for January so maybe a brick mile or two when I’m back!

OhDear2200 · 01/01/2020 10:12

When I don’t feel like I’m going to 🤮 I will do.

Bloody Prosecco.

FiveFarthings · 01/01/2020 10:15

I’m debating it but 5 month old DD had me up every hour last night so I might just slob about before lunch instead! I did do a 5k yesterday though so wouldn’t feel too bad not going today

FusionChefGeoff · 01/01/2020 10:29

Due to a very late night, DC actually slept in for once so I've taken advantage and had a lie in too. Just having a cuppa and waking up before a longish run of 7 miles.

I'm using the virtual coach on my Garmin app to train for a hopefully sub 2 hour half marathon in March and she's a slave driver Grin. She got very cross when I missed some runs over Xmas and posted a passive aggressive video about the impact of going off the training plan!!

purplepandas · 01/01/2020 10:33

Trying to psych myself up to go. It's our first chill day over the holidays so lacking motivation. I know I will feel better for it!

Fleurygirl · 01/01/2020 13:55

That's so funny FusionChef!! Good on you, following your training plan, stick with it and you'll really enjoy the half-marathon.

theluckiest · 01/01/2020 15:07

Yep!

I had absolutely no intention of running today, but my friend persuaded me at last night's party. I wasn't that keen tbh but she was & kept badgering me until I gave in...

Guess who didn't turn up as she was still hungover in bed??!!

Did 6K AND have signed up to do Jan Race At Your Pace...determined to do at least 50 miles in Jan. Feeling motivated Grin

NothingIsWrong · 01/01/2020 15:15

Went out and do a 6km fast run from my training plan. I'm doing an ultra in March and I can't afford to miss any runs... two days off now and then 22km on Saturday 😬

Fruityb · 01/01/2020 19:27

I’ve signed up to 15 miles for Race at my Pace this month. If all goes well I’ll up it for feb!

BlaueLagune · 01/01/2020 19:28

I did two local parkruns this morning. I'm not doing RED in January because I think it's a recipe for injury, but having run about 920 miles in 2019 quite by accident (did about 720 in 2018), I am going to aim for 1000 in 2020.

HerRoyalNotness · 01/01/2020 19:30

I thought about it. But I did not in fact do it

Thorilicious · 01/01/2020 19:44

I went out for a mile earlier. I've let my mileage lapse a bit, so need to build it all back up again.

Fruityb · 03/01/2020 21:07

I just did run one of week 3 as decided I didn’t want to start smack at the beginning. It was great! Cold and my bunions hurt - any advice on that? - but it was good. Need a headband on or a hat as my jaw hurts when I get cold - I don’t clench but think the cold doesn’t agree with me in that sense.

Tell me it’s perfectly feasible to get up at half five and do it in the mornings before work?!

littlelilypad · 01/01/2023 13:21

We were late to start but have just got back from our NYD 15k - a tradition in our house to blow the cobwebs away. We jog through the local woods, grab a coffee and pastry half way, and then home to a hot shower and brunch. It's a lovely day for it!

HNY, to all the MN runners! Star
