Car seat rule

I have to make a 12 hour journey broke up into 6 hours over two days and have a 10 week old ds. He can hold his head up and has great control of his head. When did you stop doing the 30 min rule in car seats. I plan on stopping every two hours at least and usually take an hours break for lunch half way through. Would this be ok?

My baby was 10 weeks when we went on our first long journey. I stuck with every 2 hours after 2 weeks really. Are you alone on your journey? If not, can someone sit in the back with baby and keep an eye out? We did that until she was 6 months if we could.

Yes. At that age up to 2 hours is fine.

Yeah full car going so people can keep an eye out. Was filled with dread of the thought of having to stop every hour.
