What are you taking up for 2020?

Rather than all the weight loss and giving things up, I’d love to hear what you want to take up in the new year?

I want to start playing the piano, I did grade 1 years ago when I was about 7 and haven’t played since. Recently I feel really drawn to classical music and have such an urge to play.

I also want to give year round sea swimming a go so I will be on the hunt for an XL wetsuit in the sales!

I’d love to hear other people’s additions?

Not taking up, but I want to improve my knit and crochet skills.

birdsarecute45 · 31/12/2019 11:13

I was going to say knitting also. i can do a single type of stitch and only make scarves. I would quite like to branch out (although DH has rejected my suggestion I knit him ties).

I want to have more fun though. I have largely forgotten what fun is like!

Although it is 'giving up' i want to give up watching so much tv.

I want to take up other activities instead- and get on top of the houseworkd for a change!!

I’m taking up staying home and saying no to everything plus being more assertive in getting my health concerns sorted.

Hopefully it’ll be a peaceful 2020.

I couldn’t agree with this more, it’s only when I have a real really good laugh or really good fun I realize how infrequently it happens these days.

I’m with you there! I really let housey stuff get on top of me, sometimes overwhelmingly. A major declutter is going down today!

I’ll be making a big effort in buying local stuff: my county and the U.K. favoured, Europe-made goods/foods at a push, and try and avoid long-hauled stuff altogether.

Good for my local community/country and the environment. Xmas Smile

Kayaking. Acting. Driving. And DIY.
Looking forward to all of them.

I’m going to start playing guitar again. Teen DS is learning so I’m going to play along with him, it’s been years.

Just purchased a ukele, decided I fancy giving it a go and I taught myself crochet from YouTube, so how hard can this be 🤣🤣

FrivolousPancake · 31/12/2019 23:45

YouTube is meant to be great for learning ukulele @ADrabLittleCrab

I so envy anyone who can play instruments!
I booked my piano lessons online today, really looking forward to the year ahead!
