Help ! Flies everywhere

So a few weeks back I had an awful smell under my floorboards . Something had definitely died under there .
Lifted floorboards but couldn’t see anything.
Since yesterday I have had lots of big black flies . I know they are probably from the result of something dying in the wall or under floor boards .
What can I do to get rid of them ? At the moment using fly spray and hovering .
How long will they last ?
I know it’s only flies but I’m ready to move out !!

Pest control in your local area? You need the dead thing removed.

Op you have my sympathies, we had something similar a few years ago and it was horrendous.
What I can say is that the flies only lasted a few days. I guess that once you're seeing the flies, it means that the maggot Envy stage is over and so the body is probably consumed! Just use tons of fly spray and keep windows wide open and I think it'll sort itself out in a day or so.

Are the flys easy to catch? If so they are cluster flies and will disappear when the food source has gone. Ours lasted for around 3 days.

@Parky04 yes they’re dopey if that makes sense ? Today has definitely been the worst day . Had a few yesterday but lots today Sad

I really hope they’re gone soon . Just makes me feel so dirty .
I hope and pray that they’re gone by tomorrow . Pesky things

Land fill sites nearby can produce the same problem
