Contraceptive patch - alternatives

Been on the patch for around 3 years now and it's been great. Fuss free, light periods no worries really. I seem to have developed some sensitivity to the adhesive used and it's becoming unbearable on my skin. Sad

After dd1 was born I had the implant in for three years but the final year was terrible constant bleeding basically. The pill wouldn't work I'd likely forget to take it. That leaves me with the merina, I had previous v heavy periods before dc so I'm not keen on even considering the copper coil. What are people's experiences with merina? I've looked at injection but I'm not certain plus the hassle of trying to get an appointment every three months puts me off!

I've had three now, five years each. The first two were amazing, zero periods and no weight-gain or mood swings. This last one took over a year to settle and got to just very light periods (two days of barely anything).

I did bleed for a month with the first one, but the nurse had warned me of that.

I’m on injection/depo.

It’s the easiest contraception I’ve ever been on. I don’t find it super difficult to get an appointment, you’re given a date when you’re next due in 12 weeks time, so I can book it up to a month in advance (as soon as their calendars open) and save the hassle of trying to get an on the day appointment.

The negatives are the initial 3 month long bleed as my body adjusted to it, then occasional breakthrough bleeding. Since then my periods have completely stopped. Dreading coming off it & having to go through this again.
