Depends on your family and your child but I’m very much pro nursery. A nanny to me seems a lot of extra hassle: NI contributions, employer rights to navigate. I also like a nursery because there is no defaulting to putting a child infront of a tv, there’s no blurred lines about what you are paying for as the care givers aren’t in your home. I also like the social interaction between children. Ultimately I felt more comfortable my child being in an almost school like external environment than bringing a care giver into our home which would kind of feel like a replacement of me.

Depends- do you financially need to go back? Mentally need to go back? Part time an option?
I had to go back, 4 days at first then 5. thankfully my husband is self employed and could do the odd day at home- but I have friends who had no choice and I wouldn’t dream of judging them and their children are fine.
