Dental implants for 1k each- should I be concerned?

I am DESPERATE for dental implants. I have three missing teeth and am totally miserable, my gaps are definitely affecting the adjacent teeth, and eating is awkward 😢.

I'm only 36!!

My lovely posh private's dental practice charges 2.5k per implant, meaning the cost of three is a pipe dream. There is no way I could stretch to this.

I have noticed a dental practice about thirty minutes from here charges £995 per implant- this is much more realistic!

But should I be worried at that price? Is the work or materials likely to be shoddy?

Many thanks

@fluffedupferretonsteroids what kind of bridge did you have? Did they have to drill another tooth? Or just stick the bridge on?

My front teeth are missing after I broke them as a child. I used to have a bridge, attached to the two adjacent teeth and it was great, fixed in and not moveable. Eventually it broke and they wouldnt do a 4 tooth one like that again so I now have a metal "horseshoe" plate which as my two front teeth on it, and the two adjacent teeth are crowned. All if the work, including a root filling cost avout £350 on the NHS but is worth a few grand. The metal plate is way better than the temporary plastic one i had to endure while all the work was getting done, but it's a real food trap and needs a lot of cleaning. I would like implants ultimately but think too expensive.

I am paying £1950 per implant in East Anglia.

It was Newcastle.

@gumbo can you tell me which clinic in salisbury you used?

My OH is a dentist - his opinion is that the 995 is just for the implant with the prep and restoration work another 995!

He’s just had a patient who had an implant overseas - she went to him as it felt loose but Unfortunately the whole implant had been done wrong and fell out. His advice is to be very thorough in your research and remember that 1. you get what you pay for and 2. Have a back up plan if something goes wrong

Where are you based? My dentist in Cardiff (Bamboo dental) is the best but very very competitively priced, I paid £1800 for 6 months braces and whitening you can take this over 24 months interest free. If I had payed double I would be still be happy!!

My DH had a bridge to cover a very badly chipped front tooth. It was over 10 years ago and hes never had an issue with it.

I needed a dental implant, a top canine. I did research. I had a consultation with a Harley Street dentist who was a) cold and horrible and b) quoted £5000 (no bone augmentation needed). I had a re-think and went to a small private family dental practice where my parents used to live. The dentist was middle-aged, very kind and he did a job I am happy with. He charged £2k all in. South East coastal town.

I paid £1000 for mine a few years ago at my dentist (Liverpool). I think it's still the same price now. I can not fault it. It was painful (massively) at the time but it is still in excellent order now.

@opalescent
@Warminstermum

I used the Hampshire Implant Centre, they're actually based in Chandlers Ford (I had to have my x-rays there) but have a smaller place in New Street in Salisbury where the implant was done. I can't recommend them highly enough, they were great!

Friend had then done in Spain. Just booked to have then done when there in holiday. Meant they needed two holidays though as the base needed putting in and going back later. Cost circa 1000 euro and they were very impressed with the statue of art facilities done in. Very happy with them as well. Basically had free holidays out of it
