Anyone else so bored

Curiousmum69 · 29/12/2019 18:08

I feel like I've been stuck inside a week now. Which isn't true, but time off with nothing to do is just boring.

I've watched about as much net flix as I can hack. I'm missing work, adult company,, and being busy!

Just me?

Can you get out for a run or long walk? I get so much pent up energy when I’m stuck inside.

Curiousmum69 · 29/12/2019 18:14

Ran this morning at 8am.

And have been out for a bit to town. I think its the days rolling together.

No, never bored. There is too much to do, go to the cinema, theatre, out for coffee and cake, go for a walk, catch up with friends, read a book, bake a cake. I went to the theatre yesterday, today I am sorting wardrobes, and making jam, tomorrow cinema with friends, at the end of the week we are going with other friends to see the lights at Kew, stop overnight, King Tut exhibition before we go home.

ohwheniknow · 29/12/2019 18:19

Well what stopped you filling your time with interesting activities?

hhsa · 29/12/2019 18:21

I took kids to town today. Parked sainsbury 3 hours and spent 3 hours. Was good. Ate in pepes.

hhsa · 29/12/2019 18:22

I would get bored and depressed if didnt go out every other day. But difficult with teens as they cant be bothered sometimes.

hhsa · 29/12/2019 18:23

Ted27
Where do stop overnight have u booked hotel??

Bunnybigears · 29/12/2019 18:24

OP I am with you I am bored. Oldest DS is out with his friends all day everyday, youngest DS does 2 hours swim training every morning then just wants to 'chill'. The dog has been out for so many walks I think his legs have got shorter and he now hides everytime I put my shoes on.

betternamechangeforthisone · 29/12/2019 18:25

Yes, haven’t left the house since Friday. I love being in the house but feel so guilty doing it.

Will need to make sure and do something tomorrow.

babasaclover · 29/12/2019 18:33

Yes 1000% bored out of my tree. Cannot drive due to operation and got toddler. Husband back at work tomorrow as he was all last week. Feel like I'm wasting time but don't love close enough to anything exciting to walk - except the pub, which toddler might not appreciate. Feel like I'm having first world problems and will be back at work next week but yes sigh I am boooooorrrreeeedddd as fuck

Crunchymum · 29/12/2019 18:35

Illness and fatigue has meant we've had a very "housey" festive period.

We've been out but not far, or for long.

I'm back at work tomorrow, except I'm working from home Shock may go into the office for a change of scenery!!

Ted27 · 29/12/2019 18:41

@hhsa

We go every year and stay at the Premier Inn. We go after new year as prices drop. I've paid £30 for the room and as my son is still under 16 he gets free breakfast. So £40 B&B for two. And we make the most of breakfast so don't need to buy lunch

Peoplearemiserable · 29/12/2019 18:41

Could you do something useful like sort your cupboards out or declutter your wardrobe or something? Perhaps do the odd jobs that you don’t tend to get round to finishing (fixing squeaky doors, printing photos for the empty frame you have lying around?) there must be something you could do! Meet with friends, go for a walk, read a book, take your Christmas decorations down?

Peoplearemiserable · 29/12/2019 18:44

Repot your houseplants? Organise your filing cabinet? Check you’re getting the best deals on all of your bills? Look through and organise old photos?

Singlenotsingle · 29/12/2019 18:46

Shops are open every day except Christmas day. We live near Freeport in Braintree and it's rammed. The roads are solid with traffic. There are good films on at the cinema. We've had dgs7 to stay for a couple of days with his new toys. The time flies by.

dementedma · 29/12/2019 18:54

I’m bored stiff! Don’t go back until Friday 3rd. There are only so many walks I can do in the cold and the rain.
Can’t go spending money in the shops so that’s out.
Counting the days to getting back to work

Dowser · 29/12/2019 19:05

Was out Christmas Day, in Boxing Day Friday drove to Northallerton, Saturday middlesbrough , today Sunday lunch and bumped into an old friend...no not bored at all.
You need to get out more.

Dowser · 29/12/2019 19:06

I’m actually loving the mild dry weather, long may it continue
I don’t mind going out in that

mindproject · 29/12/2019 19:10

Sale shopping - buy your Christmas presents for next year and wrap them up if you're really bored.

We are usually a little bit bored between Christmas and New Year, so this year I planned lots of social things. This has meant my time off work has gone far too fast. Next year I'm planning nothing.

Bluebellbike · 29/12/2019 19:23

I'm working. Worked on Friday, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Working 1st and 2nd of January too. Not much chance to be bored.

exWifebeginsAgainat46 · 29/12/2019 19:25

i am bored out of my tiny mind. car is broken, and my arthritis is making even a walk to the shop a major undertaking.

so i am stuck indoors, in pain, feeling isolated. still, worse things happen at sea, eh?

probably.

Singlenotsingle · 29/12/2019 19:31

Come on Ex-wife you're warm and comfortable, you've got TV, radio, music, you could cook, paint, Crochet, go on YouTube and learn a new hobby?

Curiousmum69 · 29/12/2019 19:42

I've not had nothing to do...it's just I think I'm so used to being really busy and this is my first large chunk of time on my own since my separation.

It's not like I've done nothing. ...I think just compared to my usual self I don't have a lot to do. I have friends coming to stay tomorrow and then we are off to Brighton for new year.

Secs are down, house is tidier than I've ever known it.

Money is a bit tight so can't really go out and do anything that costs. The dog has had more walks than I can imagine...But even all those things I think I'm missing company than anything. Teenagers are mostly caught up in their own lives and out most the time.

I've just cooked an awesome vegan curry from a recipe book just to kill Time.

But even cooking/eating/cleaning the kitchen has only taken 1.5 hours Hmm

I've read a few books. Watched tv. Seen friends. Had friends over. Etc I think I'm just not used to the sheer amount of time!

exWifebeginsAgainat46 · 29/12/2019 20:02

but it’s all so boooooring!

(i have read quite a lot today, and am fully intending to leave the house tomorrow)

babasaclover · 29/12/2019 20:17

@exWifebeginsAgainat46 if I could read I would be happy and content indoors - ditto if I could nap. Toddler makes all that impossible
