I am awake with a drug withdrawing baby, I can hear next-door but one neighbour's cockerel crowing and the sky is strangely light out there.

My DP Is in hospital, worried about him, and being alone in the house with DS is unsettling, not used to him not being here!

DramaAlpaca · 29/12/2019 03:16

OP, I can't link for you, sorry, but the OP of the thread is called EarthMotherImNot. Have a box of tissues handy.

Badbilly · 29/12/2019 03:18

Just got back home from a gig about 50 miles away. The gig finished at 1, and then it took me about 45 mins to load my car, and about 1 hour to drive home. Just finishing a bowl of cornflakes now before I go to bed. Sorry to hear about all the poorly babies - been there, done that, but my babies are grown- up now, but I still worry about them. I think the tiredness is making me ramble now, so I’ll stop and get myself off to bed 😀

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 29/12/2019 03:20

I was sad so had a bath and now I'm watching House M.D. while my friend and I message each other in a conversation about fetishes.

PhoneLock · 29/12/2019 03:20

Because it's nearly lunchtime.

cantthinkofauniquename · 29/12/2019 03:25

I'm in Canada so it's 11:25pm here and I'm watching hockey on TV while MNing. Hope those of you who needed to, got to sleep. :)

mortforya · 29/12/2019 03:26

@lily1062 that is an awful illness for small ones, I am glad she is getting better, it's scary to see babies so sick with bronchiolitus, we have been there many times with one of ours and thankfully has outgrown these episodes, hope baby drinks tomo for u

mortforya · 29/12/2019 03:28

It's 3.30am, I'm going to creep out of bed without hubby hearing and sneak downstairs for a quick ciggie, he hid my cigs as I have been sick with a cough but I know where he hid them, might help me sleep, fingers crossed he doesn't wake🤞🏻🤞🏻

MysweetAudrina · 29/12/2019 03:28

Because its Christmas and I stayed up doing a jigsaw and watching shite on the telly. Sorry so many of you are up with sick babies.

Namestranger · 29/12/2019 03:29

Holiday in Australia!

bloodywhitecat · 29/12/2019 03:29

@NickMyLipple, yes I am. I have previously worked with babies who were withdrawing on the ward but it is a whole new ball game doing it at home. We also have a almost 3 year old in placement with us and she doesn't get why I am tired either so you have my utmost sympathy re the play food!

There are so many similarities to EarthMotherImNot's thread, even down to how this baby likes to sleep/settle. We've had an hour's sleep now and there is a stirring on my chest.

@coconutty101 Hope your DP will soon be home?

@Confuddledtown I'll be your alibi if you do.

Thanks @bloodywhitecat and @mortforya when she came in on Boxing Day she was very very poorly, had to be put on a very high flow of pressured oxygen, but in the last 24 hours her progress has been amazing! Just got to get her to drink now

DramaAlpaca · 29/12/2019 03:33

Glad you found the thread. Hope all goes well with your foster baby.

cultmaskid · 29/12/2019 03:35

@bloodywhitecat are you fostering

Withdrawal is shit at night, for months. I know because I've been through it multiple times.
It helped me to have warm baths in the night to help settle my restless body and to reset my thermostat from the cold sweats
Also changing clothes getting out of bed and moving around.... even though I wanted to stay in bed cold wet sweaty and wriggling it does improve if you get out and into a bath xx

sleepychunky · 29/12/2019 03:35

Flowers for all the poorly babies. I've got tonsillitis and my throat hurts so much I can't sleep. Kids are having a sleepover at grandparents' house so don't have to worry about disturbing them

NickMyLipple · 29/12/2019 03:37

@bloodywhitecat once my daughter is older and we are a bit more financially stable, I would love to be a foster carer. I've been to a few information events and my goodness, they sugar coat it! Being on the other side means I see the effect of ACES on children and young people day in, day out. I practice therapeutic parenting with my daughter, so that might give me a small head start!

cultmaskid · 29/12/2019 03:40

@sleepychunky have you got anti biotics?
I used to get it literally every two weeks until I got my tonsils out
I've not had a bad throat since I was 16 which is 11 years ago. The occasional sore throat but not like the unable to swallow / open mouth one

Cocodamol helped

Bluewavescrashing · 29/12/2019 03:42

Usually I have my bed to myself but my parents are staying with us so DH is in with me. He was snoring so much I came downstairs only to find my mum on the sofa... My dad is snoring his head off too. I've got the other sofa. 😴

bloodywhitecat · 29/12/2019 03:42

@cultmaskid yes I am a foster parent, a very tired one at the moment Grin

@NickMyLipple do it! It is the hardest, yet most rewarding thing I have done. Seeing the change in the children is just amazing over the time they are with us is just so rewarding even if there are times I want to lock myself in the shed and scream

In a&e I've injuries myself badly due to my mental helath and am waiting to see surgeons. I've been here hours it's busy and loud I want to leave but have been told I can't. So MNing to pass time

GalactiCat · 29/12/2019 03:43

Money worries and its blowing a gale here so the roof is banging non stop

Bottler · 29/12/2019 03:47

Because I started a new medication which keeps me up. I've stopped it now, but I'm still up all night and sleeping during the day! Can't seem to manage to turn it around unless I try to stay up for 24 hours, but when the tiredness hits, it hits.

Poor little babies. I'd love a baby cuddle right now. You don't appreciate them when you have them as you just don't want them to wake up lol.

Bottler · 29/12/2019 03:48

How old is the baby @bloodywhitecat

mortforya · 29/12/2019 03:49

@alittlebitworried23 I really hope you are ok, am glad you are getting looked after, things can only get better x

Bottler · 29/12/2019 03:50

Oh I've just eaten a plate of gammon, kale and potatoes! So now I'm over-full, tired and bored as it's the witching hours.
