Has anyone else noticed that there is a new Quality Street?!

Was munching my way through a large tub earlier and noticed one in a turqoise wrapper that Ive never seen before. Tried it and its got a thick, runny chocolate filling but it tastes really synthetic and am not sure if I like it or not?

Wonder why they've suddenly added a new one after all these years?

I liked the square toffee and the peanut cracknel.

I don't like the new gold one

Clevererthanyou · 28/12/2019 22:40

I did read recently that QS wrappers are biodegradable. Can anyone confirm if this is true or bullshit?

Beautiful3 · 28/12/2019 22:46

We hate Rose's, quality street and celebrations. The quality of them have really gone down the pan. The heroes don't seem too bad. We've bought the heroes tub and lindt lindor balls for christmas.

First Christmas in as long as I can remember for as long as I can remember that we haven't had any Quality Street. At all. Thank you palm oil.

avocadoze · 28/12/2019 23:22

The wrappers of quality street are the one redeeming feature. I hate the plastic packets that Roses have. I bought a tin of Roses because the tin itself was pretty, and the chocolates were a grim disappointment. Quality Street don’t taste much better but at least they don’t have the cheap looking wrappers

The new QS one is choc caramel brownie and is vile. There is someone on twitter who has been sharing pages from old Christmas catalogues including Cadburys ones. So many chocs have gone Roses used to have Noisette which was their version of the green triangle. And Almond Charm Id forgotten that one.

They used to really go to town with the packaging too.

What was wrong with the old tins and wrappers? I can still remember how lovely Quality Street and roses used to be, it does make me sad whenever I do buy them and the overwhelming disappointment. sad

I agree they are rubbish now, but a jar would cost £15.91 if the prices kept up with inflation. I know everything has become cheaper but if they want to sell big tubs for £4 then they need to put cheap rubbish in them.

HeIenaDove · 29/12/2019 02:59

Montelimar Almond Charm Noisette Brazilian Darkness mini Dairy Milk and mini Bournville are the ones gone from Roses and the original coffee cream which was dark

Delatron · 29/12/2019 09:01

They all taste horrid these days, it’s the palm oil.

M&S don’t use palm oil and their tins actually taste ok.

hiphiphoorayback · 29/12/2019 10:26

But I would pay that to have the old tins back with the original recipes and wrappers!

Amummyatlast · 29/12/2019 10:28

I really liked the brownie chocolate and secretly stole all of them.

Tunnocksmallow · 29/12/2019 10:30

Yes and it is amazing!

HeIenaDove · 29/12/2019 17:00

@hiphiphoorayback So would i Far rather that than ££££££££ for Hotel Chocolat or Prestat.

GooodMythicalMorning · 29/12/2019 17:03

I thought Heroes were still called miniature Heroes but dh tells me that haven't been called that for about 10 years.

Ariela · 29/12/2019 17:33
