My daughter turns 6 in february. For christmas we got her a leapfrog adventure globe and some sylvanian families. She got a daft lcd drawing pad thing as a stocking filler and adores it and 2 flower toys from the entertainer. They dance and move and you can pretend to water them . They were a little bargain find and she really likes them! For her 5th birthday she got a bike and a dolls house. I ended up giving the dolls house away as she wasnt interested!! Its really hard to know what they might like at that age. She also got the paddington selfie board game which she loves. She has def started enjoying board games more in the last year Grin at least its a break from kerplunk!!!

mousemousse · 28/12/2019 21:16

Playmobil, Lego, lots of drawing/writing things so books about how to draw and writing sets were favoured things at xmas. Also playing with top trumps, Scrabble, dobble, any game that involves a poo element Hmm

She's 6 now but not much has changed. She loves any board or card game (snakes and ladders/uno) LOL's still a firm feature, more complicated Lego friends we can do together, her bike, scooter, roller skates. Baby Annabelle and our generation dolls

My ds is 5 and a half and loves Hama beads, playmobil, magnatiles and board games. We have just finished Charlie and the chocolate factory which he loved and have just started reading the great glass elevator which he is really enjoying too. He has a pop up version of Peter Pan which he really likes too. He got a tiddlywinks set for Christmas and gravitrax both of which have been really popular.

Stravapalava · 29/12/2019 01:31

Girl here - obsessed with her My Generation doll. She's got loads of accessories for it and spends all day doing it's hair, getting it dressed, taking it's dog for a walk (no, really), acting out stories etc. It's so worth the money. Before that, it was Baby Born.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 29/12/2019 09:26

what kind of play is she into? e.g. my dds have always spent hours with small world type toys telling stories. so busy book figures, lol dolls, enchantimals, Disney characters and houses/cars have always been popular for them.

but they've never used a kitchen/dolls and pram whereas if your dd is into role play they might be good for her.

or does she like to build? if so magnatiles or some simple Lego sets would be good.

mine both started getting into games at that age - hungry hippos, jenga, bugs in the kitchen, connect 4, game of life junior, monopoly junior all good ones we've played alot.

otherwise a much desired cuddly toy - a trip to build a bear was a big treat and mine love theirs. a suitcase of second hand clothes went down a treat too. (no way was I paying £10 for a dress for a bear!!)

AHorseCalledCroc · 29/12/2019 09:35

Hot wheels
Dinosaurs
Pokemon (figures and on the switch)
Avengers figures and costumes
Art set
