We have a new Xbox one. Had only one log in as only ds2 was playing. Have now set up ds1 an avatar etc but I can’t connect him to Xbox love that iv already paid for? Only gave me the option to buy it but I already have. Can anyone help me please? Already have a Microsoft account etc set up. Xbox has parental controls etc.

Iv followed stuff iv Googled but nothing has helped? If someone can give me step by step instructions to sort it I would be extremely grateful to stop WW3!!

One user per live account you will have to buy again

motherheroic · 28/12/2019 12:23

You can't share Xbox live. You have to buy one for each account if you want to go online.

You can buy it on Amazon. They'll email the code if you don't want to be silly and hook a card up to it.

I have to pay twice?! How is that fair if it’s the same console??

Iv already bought Xbox live gamerchick.

No, you definitely don't need to buy Xbox live again. You can have multiple accounts on one Xbox live subscription. Just make a new account on the console that has Xbox live and it should be automatically connected. This is what my children did when they shared one xbox.

You can also have up to 2 Xbox consoles running on one Xbox live account. So even with 2 Xbox consoles in the house i only pay for one Xbox live subscription and both are connected to it.

Phew. Hang on can you help me in simple terms @SpockSmashesScissors ?

So home page, top right you can see my account, how do you add another one? Do I have to go through that whole process I did first time round with parental settings etc

Wouldn't be me. Kids get perma banned for all sorts of reasons.

Iv already bought Xbox live gamerchick

It used to be each profile needed its own gold. So buying it repeatedly for each profile. No idea when it changed and as I said, it wouldn't be me. Grin

And a quick Google tells you how to do it

Teenagers are out at the minute, and I have to admit I wouldn't know where to start!!

But it has been working fine in our house for quite a few years now. It also means any games you buy digitally on the Xbox they can both play without having to buy 2 copies, either separately with their own friends or together.
