Sorry if this has already been done, I love reading this every year and can't find it.

I loved the new make up brushes from dsd, didn't know I needed them but really did!

Mine was a key fob thing that rings either your phone or your keys depending on which one you have lost. I suspect it will save me at least a day in 2020!!

Hellohah · 28/12/2019 10:24

My friend got me 12 books, one to read each month (next year) which I really loved. Some of them I wouldn't pick myself, but I like that because a change is always good.

MercedesDeMonteChristo · 28/12/2019 10:28

I got a history book that I really wanted but was quite expensive from DH and DC. I asked for it.

They also got me a small dictaphone for a project I am working on. I sort of assume DH isn’t interested in my studying so this was lovely as he has been listening and is interested.

passthebucky · 28/12/2019 10:30

@DookofBust OMG I need one of these, didn't even know there was such a thing!

Mine was probably my boots and rucksack that I've had my eye on for a while.

DS1 is 14 and bought me a photo frame with a photo of the two of us from our summer holiday. We'd been scuba diving and are all red and puffy in scuba gear on the back of a boat, he'd just got his next level scuba certificate and had worked so hard for it, and his arm is around my shoulder and he's grinning straight at me.

DS1 has Autism and can struggle at times with emotions and expressing himself. He's also very self-deprecating and tough on himself; he struggles to be proud. The photo made me cry because it's his way of showing us how very proud he is of himself, and it was just perfect. I can't express how much things like that mean.

DookofBust · 28/12/2019 10:36

passthebucky its called 'chipolo'.

AlaskaElfForGin · 28/12/2019 10:41

*immediately orders Chipolo ...

CherryPavlova · 28/12/2019 10:44

We got a shared fitness monitor and tracker for the dog. Good fun and means if he disappears on Dartmoor or somewhere we can find him easily. Didn’t know we wanted one but seems we do.

I received a beautiful, ruby red, coat with a really beautiful pearl and amethyst suffragette witches heart brooch attached from my husband.

WonkyDonk87 · 28/12/2019 10:47

I've just ordered myself a new CORDLESS hoover. Old (stupid clunky, corded) hoover isn't even broken. But this will make my life so much easier and is something I will appreciate every day. 100% worth it.
Merry Christmas from me to future me Grin

AlaskaElfForGin · 28/12/2019 10:48

Sapphire and diamond ring from DH. Been a shit year so it was an extra special present this year. Back to normal next year. 😂

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/12/2019 10:51

I got lots of lovely ones but these ones were surprises and just perfect:
From child one: a Himalayan salt lamp
From child 2: a tiny Harry Potter character to sit on my phone charger
From dp: he's booked a nice afternoon tea for us for next week

Happyspud · 28/12/2019 10:52

I bought myself a robot hoover! Very excited. DH got me two beautiful silver tree decorations I wanted and some undies. Friend gave me homemade gin and doormat for new house, both of which are welcome. I think I’ve one more gift coming from a family Kris Kringle. But really few gifts this year compared to usual. I’ve bought myself lots this year though so hardly suffering.

buckeejit · 28/12/2019 10:54

Kalimba (thumb piano) from dh. Been on my wish list for yonks and have been having much fun with it! And books, lots of books!

Chemenger · 28/12/2019 10:56

The music from Ragnar Kjartansson’s “The Visitors” on vinyl. Apparently I asked for it, but had totally forgotten so it was a lovely surprise.

Greenkit · 28/12/2019 10:57

Tickets to Phantom of the opera

JAIENLCE29 · 28/12/2019 11:00

My friend bought me a beautiful bracelet with mine and my daughters birth stone in. Such a thoughtful gift, and totally unexpected

EnglishRose1320 · 28/12/2019 11:02

My best gift was that we had a perfect Christmas, it was fun and happy, relaxing and everyone smiled. First time in years we haven't had police/paramedics at this time of year due to Ds1 mental health issues.

Ds1 joined in with everything and delighted in it being Christmas
Ds2 got to be just a child, not a young carer and got to build Lego, eat chocolate and watch Christmas movie after Christmas movie.
Both oh and I got to have a drink, we felt relaxed enough that we didn't need one of us remaining on possible driving duty just in case.

Futureplanning · 28/12/2019 11:22

@EnglishRose1320 sounds like a wonderful Christmas, that many just take for granted ❤️

Lots of lovely and thoughtful gifts, it's great hearing about them for inspiration too, thanks for sharing.
