I have a big birthday in 2020. Keen to take four of us (2 adults, 2 primary age dc) away in may half term.

Have got through a very bad year health wise so want to spoil them and me. We haven’t been away for a long time, so lots to celebrate.

Any suggestions of where we could go that time of year?

Corfu. We went then when DS was 3. The weather was perfect.

Any recommendations of where to stay? Thanks for reply 😊

If you like ancient history and want something slightly educational you could consider doing a Nile cruise and stay (7 night Nile cruise and 7 night all inclusive red sea resort stay.). Tours are all included on the cruise, and it's an amazing time. I did it in June 2018, and will be going again in April 2020.

If your budget stretches very far you could even consider a Dahabiya Nile cruise which is a traditional sail ship.

Some people will tell you Egypt isn't safe, or isn't a great place for kids. I stayed there for a month and never felt in danger once (okay maybe a little on the darn camel)... And Egyptians love children and they'll make quite a fuss over yours.

Just a thought...

Sorry I didn’t see this reply!

That sounds amazing, although have been to Cairo before, was hoping for something different (and also quite relaxing)

Sardinia is beautiful - or how about the Algarve? Majorca is closer to home and there is a huge range of accommodation to suit everyone. Should be pleasantly warm in May.

If you need any info RE Egypt let me know! I love it there and would go back in a heartbeat!
