Tooth ache remedies?

Had a tooth drilled last week and a temporary glass ionomer filling put in as I couldn’t have a mercury one due to breastfeeding and apparently the placement of it wasn’t suitable for a white one. This lasted 3 days before it broke and I had to go back on Monday for it to be refilled.

It’s started to hurt today but I’ve got a bag about infection so all my jaw aches anyway. However this last hour it’s really throbbing and now I’m worried about being in pain all weekend before dentist reopens Monday.

Does anyone have any good remedies to help with tooth ache?

That was bad sinus infection! Autocorrect.

Toothache is a horror - hope you get it sorted soon.

In the meantime, the only thing that dulls the pain for me is an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen - a lot of it, say 800mg - or, if you have it, Co-codamol. But the only thing that will really work is a trip to the dentist. But you already know that.

Problem is I’m breastfeeding so can’t take a lot of drugs! I’ve been suffering with this sinus infection for days as I can’t take the decongestants.

Ibuprofen, possibly clover oil.

Clover oil on the tooth, don't drink it!

Agree, clove oil, tastes disgusting but really works.

Thanks, will get some from the pharmacy tomorrow. I’ve got some Oragel extra strength but it’s not helping.

Second clove oil and ibuprofen. Hope it eases soon.
