Really boring cheque related question

Has anyone used the Lloyds app to pay a cheque in to their bank from a different Lloyd's account?

I did it earlier and it said if I did it before a certain time it would go in before 5 the next working day?

Has anyone any experience of this as that sounds very quick for a cheque to clear especially cos I did it on my app! 🤷🏻‍♀️

should do but obviously you can't count the bank holidays we have had.

thegirlfrommars · 27/12/2019 16:49

I put it in today and it said it should be in by 5pm tomorrow, but I'm not sure if Saturday counts as a 'working day'? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Halifax app is usually next working day if that helps.

Think the cheque clearing time is quicker now than it used to be, app or no app.

ny20005 · 27/12/2019 17:06

Saturday isn't a working day.

Paying in by app is quicker than usual clearing times but next working day isn't guaranteed

AhoyMrBeaver · 27/12/2019 17:06

It will be cleared on Monday. Saturday isn't a working day.

Optimist1 · 27/12/2019 17:09

Yes, the credit to your account is very speedy nowadays. I'm not sure that Saturday is a working day, though.

whataballbag · 27/12/2019 17:17

Yes. I get paid by cheque 😂

Scan it in on the app before 4pm and it's clear before midnight next working day

PleasantVille · 27/12/2019 21:55

If that's what the bank itself says I'd assume it's correct.

cabbageking · 27/12/2019 22:11

Bank holidays, Saturdays and Sundays are not working days.

Sofacat · 27/12/2019 22:15

Sorry to gatecrash but had anyone been successful in paying a cheque in via the Lloyds app where the back of the cheque is blank. I scanned the front of the cheque and it was accepted but can’t get it to accept the back because there’s nothing printed on it.

thegirlfrommars · 27/12/2019 22:17

Mine had nothing on the back of it and it has let me upload it, whether it will come back or not I don't know!

What would there ever be on the back of a cheque though! I thought it was weird it asking me to send a picture of a blank price of paper!

Some cheques have a grid on the back so that if you are depositing more that one item , you can list them.

Sofacat · 27/12/2019 22:26

Sorry , that’s the paying in slip that has that not the cheque. Although the last cheque I paid in via the app had something on the back , because I remember scanning it.

@sofacat try the 'talk to us' chat function on the app and they can advise you?
