Heathly Gums from 1s to 0s?

Part of new year etc I want to start looking after myself a bit better. But recently at the dentist appointment I was told all my gums are 1s and not 0s. Does anyone know if this is something I can improve myself (and how) or do I have to see a hygienist (not a fan they scare the pants off me)? Or option 3, us it too late when they get to the next level is there no going back.

Hygienist here. A score of one means there is some bleeding when they probe into the gum You should make sure that you use an electric toothbrush and floss or tepe really really often - daily or even twice a day But gently
A score of 1 wouldn’t worry me too much tbh. - if I was scoring you
If it’s 3 or 4 you have a problem - that indicates gum disease

Thanks for that, and I will up my flossing as I struggle to find Tepe things small enough to fit between my teeth. Are those water jet things any help or just a gimmick? Also didn't know the numbers could get higher, I thought it was 0 ok 1 awfulBlush

It’s a score we do on everyone at each check up. Just to make you feel better at my last exam I had a score of 2!!

Yeah I like those waterpiks. But use it as well as the floss.

Have you tried the Tepe orange Easy Picks? I really struggled with the brushes, but the sticks work for me.
