Afternoon/evening in Winchester tomorrow (unexpectedly)- what to do?

Hi, I’m in Winchester tomorrow and hoping someone can suggest something to do. I’m hoping to have a stroll and look at the Christmas lights, maybe stop for a coffee somewhere nice. Not looking for anything that requires too much energy but perhaps a nice walk, local attractions, that sort of thing. TIA.

The ice rink at the cathedral is lovely

The cathedral is lovely and has tours if you’re into that kind of thing (but you do have to pay to get in) and there is an ice rink in the grounds at this time of year. Or if you want a nice walk you can walk through the grounds and out around the city wall, and along the river. The town itself is nice to wander around. Plenty of shops and coffee places. There is an Everyman cinema if you want something more chilled

Second walking along the river if the weather is up to it. There's an information office by the Guildhall opposite the bus station where you'll be able to get some more ideas.

The Cathedral is lovely as well,; there are nice shops down the main street, and Winchester is just pretty to wander around.

What everyone has suggested so far, it's beautiful. The Xmas market will still be there so enjoy!

I think the Christmas market will be finished now, just lots of closed huts but the ice rink is usually still open after Christmas

Oh I love it there

If the weather's up for it I'd suggest a walk around the Winnall Moors just outside of the town centre- it's a really lovely spot and not what you'd expect in the middle of the city.

Cabinet rooms for a cocktail.
Walking around the Cathedral and the water meadows.
Plenty of good places to eat.
If you’ve walking boots then a trot up St Catherine’s Hill.
