Dressing Gown help please

My DS - aged 15 - really, REALLY needs a new dressing gown. The one he is currently mooching about in is getting indecently short.

DS chose a fluffy pink one with flamingos on last time. It is super soft and has a hood which were his primary concerns - he is ASD so the masculinity of the dressing gown is not a concern compared to texture 😂

He is approx 5'6" and super skinny. He would like it mid calf length and "as soft as a cloud"

All suggestions very gratefully received, thank you 💐💐

I got my step mum an amazingly soft long hooded dressing gown from Matalan. They had a great selection.

Clawdy · 26/12/2019 20:45

Sainsburys had some lovely soft hooded gowns.

DistantVworp · 26/12/2019 20:52

I have one of these which is super soft and cuddly, even after many washes:

I dont know budget but my DH bought me a Ted Baker one and it is the most comfortable thing I've ever worn.

PersonalClown · 26/12/2019 21:29

Asda! Mine has had multiple washes and tumble drys and is still lovely and soft and fluffy!

PurpleFrames · 26/12/2019 21:33

I have bought ones for my mum from tkmax, M&S and primark

Good luck!

dontmesswiththeGC · 26/12/2019 21:56

Very random but I have the softest ever dressing gown from the futon company. Someone at work told me about it and now I've shared this gem of a purchase with more people than I can remember. Everyone raves about them

alislim · 26/12/2019 22:32

I have had several soft, fluffy hooded ones from Asda over the years Smile

Bumblebutts · 26/12/2019 22:34

I brought one from primark for my 10 year old for xmas, it's so soft and fluffy! I'm kind of jealous

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 26/12/2019 22:36

Mine is from M & S www.marksandspencer.com/supersoft-fleece-hooded-gown/p/clp60287768?color=CHARCOALMIX

Light, soft and really warm.

milliefiori · 26/12/2019 22:37

I buy DC ones from Primark. Not the cheapest, but their version of luxury. Supersoft and fluffy and stay that way if you wash them on a very sjort cycle, cool temperature and cool tumble dry. They have a bright red one at the moment which is unisex.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 26/12/2019 22:40

Just seen his sizing. It's currently only in XL & 2XL, so it would be a good idea to try one on. I'm 6 foot, 50 chest and 44 waist and the 2 XL is just right for me.

justasking111 · 26/12/2019 22:42

I had one from Primark last xmas, all the others are redundant now, it is so cosy and fluffy.

Aramox · 26/12/2019 22:45

Next (mens or age 15-16)

I bought this for DH and he loves it! He's 5'8 and it's below the knee on him. Out of stock in small online atm but may have it in store near you.

Nat6999 · 26/12/2019 22:50

My ds (15) has swapped from a dressing gown to thicker fleece jogging style pyjamas for wandering around the house in, he doesn't sleep in them but they are great for him bumming around the house in, he is autistic & is very choosy with what he wears, he refuses to wear slippers & wears those cosy socks with non slip bottoms instead.

Thelnebriati · 26/12/2019 22:52

This one from Marks, its on offer;

ExhaustedGrinch · 26/12/2019 22:57

I bought a super soft one as a Christmas present from Tesco. It was a light brown with a hood and bear ears attached but the best thing was it is made from recycled plastic bottles!

rednsparkley · 27/12/2019 13:40

Thank you all for all your suggestions. I will show him and see what he thinks. Lots of great choices here and from places I would never have bothered looking 👍

Nat6999 he refuse to wear joggers at all unfortunately - every pair I have bought has been rejected 😂

I got a grey dressing gown from John Lewis this Christmas. Very fluffy and absolutely as soft as a cloud! It’s amazing.
