Soggy Time...

Is anyone else getting fed up with what seems like endless wet miserable weather? Having a good think, I can't remember when we had the last decent day. Apart from Christmas Day - it was cold and sunny yesterday. Now we have had miserable rain again all day. The garden is like a swamp. I am concerned all the crocus and daffodil bulbs we planted will have rotted.

its winter weather, happens every year.....

It has been a much wetter winter so far, the flooding around the country is proof of that.
We have horses, the fields are bogs, they are only turned out for a couple of hours a day. I am sick of mud, mud thick enough to get your boots stuck in. Totally fed up with it.

@ellathechristmasfairy I don't know much about horses but I do see them looing forlorn in the rain often times with green over coats on. Can the damp mud and wet damage the hooves?

Everythwere is just sticky mud. We have been doing up the garden and everything seemed to stop early September and no progress much due to rain and mud.

My daughter is the horse expert but they can get mud fever. Mud is slippery and the ground can be uneven, horses injure really easily. Food bills go up because there’s no grazing and they are turned out to exercise although it doesn’t look like it sometimes! They do look so sorry for themselves when they are out in the rain and they are always ready to come in at this time of the year.
