IPod alternatives

My iPod has died and left me bereft and music-less. What alternatives are there?
I mainly listen to music at home, but sometimes out walking etc, so portable is good but not necessary.
I have hundreds of cds, and would like to continue to use my already downloaded music too.
Any ideas?!

An iPhone? You can just access the same library from there. I also recently bought a 2nd hand iPod off eBay for my 8yo. He loves it and it works just fine, not too expensive either. I think I paid about £50.

Dd and I just use our phones now , have all the music I want on Musicolet and it’s brilliant , although I really only use it when I’m walking the dog . Dd uses hers more . Indoors I have a google home hub for the kitchen .

I should have said - not keen on using a phone. I'd like a seperate music player. Happy to move away from Apple.
