Unwanted smellies

My mum bought me a dive gift set. I hate the smell and it dries out my skin (which I have told her before 🙄). She likes to buy a lot of tat to bulk out gifts.

As I won’t use this would the food bank be able to use it, I am happy to hand it over?

Update we have survived Family Gift Exchange Day Two today with no smellies!!! However a stray adult child turned up this morning with a packing disaster and was very pleased to grab a Crabtree and Evelyn gift box that dates back to a previous birthday as she shot into the shower.

I got two Dove gift sets for Christmas I like Dove but dont really need two.

The set from my mum came in a box and the one from my niece came with a white washbag.

I would like to donate one or i could take a couple of items from each one and donate them that way.

There are two body washes in each set so four altogether. I dont need four.

I got loads of Dove and i love it....it means I wont have to buy any toiletries for most of this year.

When my mum died there was enough Avon stuff in her cupboards to stock a small shop. I gave it to an ‘old people’s’ home and they were quite pleased.

I like bath and shower stuff. I don't like body lotion or cleansers, I don't have time to use that stuff.

My local Boots store has got a toiletries collection box by the tills similar to the foodbank ones you see in the supermarket, could be worth a try if you're near a branch?

Look up Sali Hughes Beauty Banks.... there are women and girls all over the UK who would really love some toiletries.

I like getting smellies. I like receiving gifts I can use, that then disappear, rather than tat that litters my house for years!

Ive looked up my local food bank and they are short of deodorant and shower gel. The washbag is the one with deodorant in it as well as two body washes and a body lotion so will donate the washbag set to either that or an old peoples home The latter didnt occur to me actually.

I donated to Beauty Banks last Jan but this item is too heavy to be sent through the post.

When people say give it to Womens Aid, what does this mean in practice? Would there be a drop off point?

Kelly this is why DH and i have a no ornaments as presents rule. We have a small one bedroom flat and dont want too much clutter.
