I only enjoyed the second half of it tbh, but it hasn’t tired, DH thought it was an old episode lol

I loved it.

I thought it was very cleverly written. Right up until the last moment we were being led to believe that Smithy was going to see the error of his ways, dump Sonia and then hopefully use the ring to propose to Nessa instead. I was thinking it was a bit formulaic and I'd expected more but it was quite sweet. But tgen when he was doing the "Love you, missing you already" thing as she drove away I was surprised and kind of disappointed. I wasn't expecting the ending! But I am not sure where they can go with it now. If he says no there will be a lot of disappointed fans as obviously they are meant to be together really, but if he says yes, then the main long running storyline is over. Really the programme should be called Smithy and Nessa, as Gavin and Stacey are almost incidental characters now.

I enjoyed it but that ending was The Worst.

Re-watching the series recently I was thinking that Smithy would have had to have a complete personality/behavioural shift for me to be pleased if he and Nessa had ended up together: he was childish, narcissistic, misogynistic and phenomenally rude to Nessa.

Admittedly we heard today that he's been a good dad, but I hope that she pulls her hand back and says she was only joking.
