Ouch!
Slap some Vaseline on it maybe

beautifulstranger101 · 25/12/2019 21:33

It will heal quickly- the lips have a much more abundant blood supply than other areas of skin. Put some vaseline or sudocrem on it.

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 25/12/2019 21:49

Um... why?

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 25/12/2019 21:55

I did too. It’s really sore.

JoeysTurkey · 25/12/2019 22:00

I did it years ago and I still wince when I think about it. It does heal so fast though. Don't drink hot drinks for a while if the hot cup will touch it and use lip balm often.

Illstartexercisingtomorrow · 25/12/2019 22:00

Fricking heck OUCH!

Wtf were you doing???

HermioneWeasley · 25/12/2019 22:02

Get 8 hour cream on it - it’s got magic healing properties

OverByYer · 25/12/2019 22:04

Have done this a few times. Lots of lip balm

TheDevilsPedicure · 25/12/2019 22:10

Oooouch I did this Xmas two years ago, I was wrapping presents and the tape literally got caught on my lower lip as I was waving it around and it ripped a chunk out of my lip, wouldn't stop bleeding!

I don't think there's much you can do, I had to leave it to heal

Babymamaroon · 25/12/2019 22:16

I did this just yesterday!!! I used some Egyptian Magic cream from an advent calendar last year...did the trick! It's a bit like Vaseline so if you've got some use that!!

springydaff · 25/12/2019 22:19

What's 8 hour cream?

I'll have a go with the magic sudocrem.

Thanks for sympathy and suggestions 💋

I did this a few years ago while wrapping presents. Ouch
Try either lip balm or moisturiser, particularly last thing at night before bed so it's working as you're sleeping.

Palavah · 25/12/2019 22:25

Have done this too. Ouch ouch ouch.
Sudocrem is a good plan.

Do not pick.

IndigoApple · 25/12/2019 22:25

Ouch! Believe it or not I did this putting a carpark ticket in my mouth while driving around looking for a space Blush so sharing your pain. As pp said mouth injuries heal quickly.

winewolfhowls · 25/12/2019 22:35

Would you like some tcp?

Stings like a bugger. if the answer is no, I don't fancy that, then you're good.

Many a maardy child injury can be deflected in its tracks in our house by the threat of tcp.

However while you have a genuine injury I might go as far as to offer savlon.

springydaff · 25/12/2019 22:44

I'm of the age where any whiff of tcp about my person strikes fear in my heart.

I was about to say 8 hour cream (Estee Lauder) I did the same on Monday and one application of 8 hour cream fixed it.

hellswelshy · 25/12/2019 22:46

I've done that Blush , hugs to you op!

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 25/12/2019 23:36

Ouch! I caught my lip in my coat zip a few years ago and it hurt like a bastard. Only lasted a day or two though.

Jupiters · 26/12/2019 00:28

@IndigoApple OMG I did exactly the same thing! So painful.

IndigoApple · 26/12/2019 10:12

@Jupiters ha ha thought that could've only happened to me!

Shaneb115 · 06/06/2021 00:41

I have done that awhile back with aluminium tape and it faded my top lip colour

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 06/06/2021 00:43

done that. bastard painful
Vaseline helps

IHaveBrilloHair · 06/06/2021 00:47

Oh no, that's the worst.
Blistex will help with pain, but they do heal quickly.
I use the wrist tape sellotape things now so it's nowhere near my mouth.
