Tantrums at Christmas!

My 6 yo DD has whinged and tantrummed all day. Well, maybe not all day, but it feels like it as it has overshadowed much of the day!

I know, logically, that she is overwrought and overexcited and lacking sleep, but I can't help feeling so upset when I have tried so hard to make it a nice day for everyone. I have come upstairs for a few minutes to calm down!

Is anyone else's Christmas fraught?!

I hear you! I've never been so glad for bed time to come round... it's been a day, a few days actually of non-stop whinging and complaining and hissy-fit throwing.

DS is 4

Yes. I have had to take msyelf away from everyone oltherwise I am going to lose it. I feel taken for granted and thoroughly fed up.

Oh yes the paddying has got to me today and the arguing between the kids. All three were in bed for 7 as I couldn't take much more.

The whining, sulking and tantrums today were courtesy of my SIL (who's 40). She couldn't sit and watch what she wanted on TV cos the kids kept disturbing her, MIL made her wait to open her presents until we got there and the kids got served first at dinner. I had to make my excuses and go out for a bit, kids behaved brilliant in comparison.

My DD8 has been the same. She has been great 80% of the day but the on/off strips the remaining 20% have made us both want to strangle her. We won't, obviously.

They are a ball of emotions at this point with no filter or restraint.
