Christmas Day Highs and Lows

Going to be objective, people either highlight the good or bad, so I'm going for a general synopsis.

Lows - DS's presents were the wrong size (well labelled correctly but obviously too small), so have to be returned. He had a strop
The kids were fighting, being silly, ott (they are 12 and nearly 10 so feel they should be growing out of all that). DH got in a mood, a bit of tension.
Found Christmas Dinner preparation quite stressful, only 4 of us but have decided its mainly overrated.
Spoke to my Dad on the phone. His partner (she has dementia but there has been a lot of bad history) was there in the background being awkward and as ever Dad had to cut the phone call short.

Realise all of the above sounds bratty.
Highs - Apart from DS's presents, the rest of the presents went down well.
I got the boys to help me peel some veg which was good
I got some Joy perfume by Dior, Hotel Chocolates and vouchers
M&S Sticky Toffee pudding is truly wonderful and was worth it
DH liked the dress I chose to wear, even though I need to lose about 20 pounds
I'm looking forward to watching Call the Midwife later
All good overall reading back

Bad

I have the evil cold
DH is being a bit of a useless twat and hasn't so much as made a cup of tea whereas I ran around like a blue arsed fly
No one has eaten any of the food. They all put in loads of requests for home made cake, sausage rolls, ham etc and have eaten f all.
It's my first Christmas without my daddy

Good

I have literally lounged in the sofa all day
The food I made is lush and me and dm are enjoying it
I have frozen the other bits that won't get used so no waste
DH does loads every other day and got me some very sweet and thoughtful pressies
Dds haven't bickered all day and love their stuff.

DM is doing ok - she's embraced relaxation and seems happy plus dds keep telling her they love her which puts a lovely smile on her face
