HELP trapped wind - baby

My 8m old DS has been awake since 7.30 with trapped wind. Only the 3rd time he's ever had it but he's screaming with the pain. I've done EVERYTHING every website tells me to do, looking for weird, wacky and wonderful home remedies. NB: I have no gripe water, peppermint or fennel tea. Any help would be so appreciated!

Baby massage works wonders on trapped wind.

Have tried massage for ages; he's having none of it. He won't even watch peppa which tells me it's bad Confused

My bloke distracts with a noisy toy while I peddle legs and do knees to chest etc.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 24/12/2019 22:04

Walk up and down the stairs with him over your shoulder.

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 24/12/2019 22:04

Yes peddle knees time chest whilst lying on their back. Makes for quite the baby wind instrument!

Bubblysqueak · 24/12/2019 22:06

Lie him down on his back hold his hands and pull him gently and slowly into the sitting position (it make take several times) .

If this doesn't work, pedalling his legs and to relieve pain a warm bath.

The pedalling worked for a bit; he's got a nasty cough too so that woke him up. His top 2 teeth are coming through a week after the bottom too and he's just got over chickenpox and a cold.

Someone tell me this ends soon?

Merry Xmas all! He is currently asleep on me as he's all screamed out I think!!

The only thing that worked for DD (extremely windy baby who, it turned out, had multiple food intolerances) was being gently tipped upside down and righted again, over and over.

Lololololola · 24/12/2019 23:03

I remember this vividly. 14 years ago tomorrow, 8 week old dd had chronic wind and was SCREAMING. I did the baby massage and pedalling thing for ages. And she had the world's biggest poonami which sprayed all over me, the kitchen wall, the floor, just went everywhere. Mustard, manky poo from head to toe. Top tip would be to ensure they have a properly done up nappy before you embark...

Lay them on their tummy over your knees, head lower than their body, rub their back round & round.
