A few years ago I used to hate Christmas. I was single in my mid 30s and so ready for a family. I would travel to my (lovely) parents but I just felt very flat about the whole thing.
Now I've got the most amazing little family. We have our own house and are making Christmas magical for the kids (DD too young to understand much but my step children are older). My parents are grandparents and it's just such a happy time. There are all the usual stresses relating to Christmas, money etc but I just wanted to take a moment and write down just how bloody grateful I am to have all this just now before tomorrow happens and I'm worrying about the timing of the Turkey, or that DD hasn't napped and has only eaten sausages all day.
