Ah, the Joys of Christmas. Family member 1 came yesterday, row (after a lot of lip biting) occured today. More family tomorrow. Yay.

Tell me I'm not alone?! I don't wish rows on anyone but I'm already sick of it.

Not happens, pass

IdiotInDisguise · 25/12/2019 10:26

Good grief, no bitting our lips!

Roselilly36 · 25/12/2019 10:30

Pleased we are just us 4 today, if we were with certain family members there would definitely be rows. We just don’t put ourselves in that position anymore, not worth the hassle.

DP is cooking bacon sandwiches, DS is asleep and I’m not running to make a memorable Christmas for people who are not really bothered about it.

That sounds good! Best wishes for the remainder of the day.

OP Flowers.

No Christmas row here (...yet) but that is because I had it in advance October! Had a long heated discussion / row with my parents and while things are a bit better now, we have all had an unspoken pact not to do Christmas together. Far too much time together and stress. Got to phone them later but hoped that will be ok.

Gin to everyone.

@ArranUpsideDown, someway the bacon sandwiches have morphed into a full Christmas dinner. He has now put the starter on the table, is happily preparing the sprouts and has handed me a g&t to relax while he cooks.

... I’m feeling a bit embarrassed now Blush

Binglebong · 25/12/2019 15:14

Thank you all for your kindness on here, hope your christmas is better than feared.

Don't - your DP preparing dinner is an excellent outcome and I'm so pleased that this has happened. Have a very good day!

listsandbudgets · 26/12/2019 10:26

@Binglebong how are you this morning? I hope things got better for you.

Binglebong · 26/12/2019 10:39

I'm ok, thank you. There are going to be some big repercussions and I have no idea what to do about those but for a now a truce is called.

Bit pissed it's now round the extended family that I was the one totally in the wrong mind.

I hope other people are enjoying a more relaxed boxing day. Thank you all for your support.

My argument started week before Xmas when my mother decided to challenge me as to why I wasn’t having dinner at her house. She didn’t appreciate me telling the truth which was that I didn’t want to sit through Christmas Day listening to my dad and brother argue constantly. She turned that on me and accused me of thinking I was better than all of them. Cue one week of us not talking! Lo and behold the arguments with my dad and Brother started 23rd December and lasted until Christmas Day. I absolutely detest Christmas! Happens every year but I’m the one that’s chastised.
