Is it too early to start drinking?!

Baileys 👀

My MOTHER.

She is the most rude, condescending, critical, dismissive, sneery, nasty person I have ever met.

I arrived last night at 6, was in tears by 8:30pm (and I am NOT an emotional person) and went to bed at 9:30pm.

I managed to stay away in the bedroom until 9:30am but now it's full on exposure until bed tonight 😱🙈

So - AIBU to crack open the bottle of Baileys I just specifically went and bought and start adding it surreptitiously to my coffee??

It's never too early. Go for it. Cheers.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/12/2019 11:31

No! I had some in my morning coffee. No rules at Christmas.

Casander · 24/12/2019 11:35

It's 5 o'clock somewhere! Cheers opWine

Shadow01 · 24/12/2019 11:36

Baileys is made for morning coffee, crack on!

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 24/12/2019 11:37

Do it!

If you can’t drink early at Christmas when the hell can you??

I had a glass of champagne with my breakfast and I’m planning a baileys coffee after my lunch so...

shuuush · 24/12/2019 11:38

I'm having a Budweiser. Good luck OP

bigchris · 24/12/2019 11:39

Do not visit her next year !

Butterflyflower1234 · 24/12/2019 11:40

Darling why subject yourself to that women??? Bollocks that it's Christmas, if she makes you miserable then cut her out of your life.

But on a lighter note, crack on with the Baileys. Maybe slip some into her coffee and she might lighten up.

AlaskaElfForGin · 24/12/2019 11:42

Go home! THEN crack open the Baileys. Don't put up with shit like that, it's your Christmas too.

MerryDeath · 24/12/2019 11:42

why are you there?! leave! why should anyone be able to make you feel you need a drink to cope with them.

LissJas · 24/12/2019 11:55

Nope, big family Christmas, including my children, so plenty of other people to consider before myself.

Cheers everyone!

But is she only awful to you and nice to everyone else or is she 'rude, condescending, critical, dismissive, sneery, nasty' with them too?

ssd · 24/12/2019 12:02

I'd say baileys is a necessity here

Good luck op

When can you go home?

Hayhayleigh · 24/12/2019 12:03

Enjoy 🥃🥂

bilbodog · 24/12/2019 12:22

Go for it 💐

VisionQuest · 24/12/2019 12:27

Definitely start drinking. Perhaps it will make you belligerent towards her?! From the sounds of it, she deserves it.

Volluto · 24/12/2019 12:30

Baileys coffee here too! Then I'll be having port and Stilton for lunch!

ooooohbetty · 24/12/2019 12:35

Wonder what your mother thinks about you?

pannikin · 24/12/2019 12:39

Judging by your input on recent political threads (including coming onto one where vulnerable people were feeling worried), it doesn't look like the apple falls far from the tree. Hmm

LissJas · 24/12/2019 12:46

Oh, everyone is a potential for the firing line.
I have NO idea why she picks on me so much. We're leaving on Boxing Day so only another 48hrs!

Pannikin - this has literally nothing to do with politics, it's about my mother's behaviour towards me. If you want to have a conversation about politics then go back to the appropriate thread please.

Oooohh... Advanced search very useful here.... Pannikin isn't wrong.....

@ssd Advanced search very useful here.... Pannikin isn't wrong...

Indeed. There was me feeling sorry for the OP.

ssd · 24/12/2019 20:15

I'm sorry for her mum.

Kittykat93 · 24/12/2019 20:21

I'm being stupid here how do I advance search? I can only see a search option?
