Hogmanay in Glasgow

Am heading to Glasgow for New Year’s Eve and staying near George Square. Can anyone recommend where to spend the evening? Am finding various ticketed events when I search but no idea what the places are like. Looking for something fun and lively. We are in our 40s if that matters.

Sorry I'm not much help.
I live in Glasgow, on Hogmanay I'm heading to my bed well before midnight.

Merchant City is always great fun. I've spent many evenings there. Pretty good age range as I'm mid forties. Within 5 minutes walk from George Square. I'm sorry but can't help about specific pubs as not sure about what is ticketed. What kind of pub/bar do you like? There are great Irish bars there Grace's, McChuills or there are some classier bars Grin

Merchant Square is brilliant. Any bar with tickets left will be amazing - you all go out into the centre of the square anyway.
It's all inside and under cover so no need to worry about the cold and walking distance from George Sq.

Enjoy!

Great, thank you. Looks like merchant square a winner. Smile
