Fresh air or staying in for a cold?

3 year old has had a cold since Friday. Temperature between 38-40 most of the time (he always gets a temperature when poorly). Me and the baby also have it but haven’t had the temperature and are coming out of the other side of it now.

We’ve all been in the house dosed up on calpol since Friday. Do we head out for a walk this morning, or spend another day in hoping we are all recovered for tomorrow?

Yes, absolutely getting some fresh air will lift everyone's spirits. A short spell outside won't be too much for any of you.

Fresh air. Even if it doesn’t help, it won’t make it worse and might tire him out a bit or help him nap/sleep?

Always outside, especially if its cold and dry, helps clear sinuses!

Fresh air is always good for what ails you. DD had the winter vomiting bug on Sunday and as I don't normally keep medicine in because it's rarely needed, I opened her bedroom window wide, gave her a cold damp washcloth for her head.got her to do deep, long breathing, in through her nose and out through her mouth slowly. Its so unbelievably effective. She had become poorly at 5pm, was asleep for the night by 9pm and all better by morning.

Obviously a cold is different from a vomiting bug but fresh air always helps.

Thanks everyone. Will drag my bum off the sofa and head out for an hour. Think I’m feeling worse than the kids today. Would love a full nights sleep!

Fresh and air and open the windows!

You can’t catch a cold from being cold By the way. Drives me mad!
My friend went for a swim in the lake the other day, next day she has a cold... people keep blaming the swim! It wasn’t the swim it was the colleague giving her a lift for a week with a stonking cold
