Hello 😊 I’m just confused and hoping to shed some light... So from the first day of my last menstrual period on the 10th sept 19 I should be 15 weeks and 1 day but on my scans it’s showing as 14 weeks today... I’m mainly trying to work out when I conceived... as I documented all the times me and my fiancé has sex but I’m just so confused as some dates that are coming up are times we hadn’t even slept together ... why is there a week between the LMP and the scan dates and what days would you say I conceived? Thank you xxxx

Is there a specific reason you need to know? I'm no expert but surely it's not an exact science, is ther doubt as to who the father is?

DEH27 · 24/12/2019 06:49

Well we broke up at one point but the other guy I slept with we used protection where as with my partner I didn’t.

There is a good chance they have miss dated I honestly think they had my son dated wrong he came on the exact day I calculated him to.

Must be hard though in your situation as you prob have a niggling doubt but it’s very unlikely to be the guy you had protected sex with the chances are a lot lower

Big congratulations xx

14 weeks today would put conception around 17th September.

The initial calculated due date is your LMP, however this is just a guide. The scan due date adds two weeks on top of the date of conception, which basically assumes a cycle length of 28 days and ovulation occuring around day 14 (which is average for all women) for it to coincide with your LMP. Of course, if you have a longer cycle length and ovulated on day 20/21 then your initial date based on LMP would be a week out.

Does the 17th +/- a couple of days seems realistic?

You can get pregnant up to a week after having sex as sperm can survive up to 7 days inside you.

Woops! I mean 1st October for conception

DEH27 · 24/12/2019 06:56

Well I slept with the guy on the 17th but that was protected, my partner we had unprotected sex on the 25th, 27th, 28th September and 1st October all while I was ovulating.

I’m so happy with my fiancé and things finally seem to be going well I just want this niggling doubt to go away , I feel so bad and panicky all the time. 😭 xxxx

If the scan date is accurate, you had protected sex on the 17th and your LMP was the 10th then it's highly unlikely it's the other guy's!

Nobody can tell you over the internet. You will need a DNA test done once the baby is born. Presumably both are aware they could be the father?
