Contractions

So I’m 35 weeks pregnant. The past few days I’ve been experiencing a really bad pain in the back. Along with a period like pain and a feeling like my stomach goes tight ( it’s accompanied with a sharp quick pain).

I ended up having to go triage last night and found out I was experiencing contractions.. my cervix is however closed ? But I was told that can change pretty quickly the baby is 2/5 engaged. The doctor told me that if I do go into actual labour now it won’t be too bad..
but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and what was the out come? When did you go into labour ? I’m in so much pain and discomfort and don’t think I want to try bring on labour for obvious reasons.

I had back labour with both my kids, it was weird but exactly as you describe. I never had the same stomach pains other women describe. Honestly it can go on for days, hopefully not for you. Back labour is really helped in the bath and by leaning forward on a table then rocking your hips and bum from side to side.
I hope you get some relief. Not my kids were born back to back (facing up) so not sure if that's why I experienced bach labour.

I’ve had two babies. With my first, I felt absolutely nothing until about an hour after my waters went (naturally, at 37 weeks).

With my second, I had loads of contraction-y type cramping at 35 weeks. Also just like a weird feeling that things were happening. I can’t describe it, it’s a weird restless feeling. I was sure I was going into labour. Nope. It stopped after about 12 hours. I went into labour naturally at 40+6 with that one.

I suspect it’s possible it’s baby really engaging and settling into your pelvis. If things get too intense, definitely get yourself checked though.
