Fancying going to France and staying in either mobile home or cabin in campsite or holiday village or something similar. Need kids activities but we like to leave a resort on evening so walking distance to a town is a must. Any recommendations? Budget flexible. Thanks!

When are you going? How bothered are you about sun (ie can you face Brittany?!)? How far will you drive? Do you need a beach? We've done quite a bit of travelling and camping in France so can have a think for you!

Bois des Valmerie near port Argeles. We loved it. Have stayed at lots and this one the best for walking out to restaurants etc in the evening

We stayed at camping l'etang des Haizes last year in Normandy. We took our tent but they did have mobile homes. They had a lovely pool with slides, kids club, a bar and laundry. We walked into the town a few times for the market and for pizza. It was great.

Whereabouts in france? La Vallee in Normandy and La Croix du Vieux Pont, north of Paris might be suitable.

I second La Pointe St Gilles near Benodet. Our first Eurocamp holiday and the best.

Thanks all. Will check them out. We would be going in August and totally flexible about area and distance. Would probably either drive or, if south, maybe fly then hire a car. Ideally would like to be close to a beach or lake shore, but being close to a town is more important to us.

Les Cigales Mandelieu La Napoule is well located for the town and beach. I have never stayed but looks fine from the outside. Nice location at the side of the river. 15 minutes easy walk to moves beaches, lots of restaurants nearby .
