Foley bulb induction?

Anyone had a foley bulb induction? Is it painful? I’m 39+2 and I’m getting induced, the doctor decided this is the better option for me but I haven’t heard of it so I was just wondering if anyone has experiences with it.

My consultant said it was difficult to do on someone who hasn’t had a vaginally birth before and he said he didn’t have a good success rate with it.

I chose not to have an induction so I can’t tell you what it’s like.

Yes I had this. It is really NOT painful!

The insertion was odd and fiddly (2x midwives needed) but didn't hurt. Afterwards I had period type pain but that was it.

I then had my waters broken (after 12 hours). Waited a couple of hours where nothing was progressing. Then said yes to epidural and drip.

...I should add that this was my second vaginal birth.

It was a really good experience for me overall.

@motherofmincepies yeah the pain is already too much and they only put it in about an hour ago 😩 I’ll never complain about periods again after this! I’ll see how it works for me, thank you for sharing

@333Alexandra120999 I hope it is/has worked for you!! Hopefully the pain is a sign of things progressing!

@motherofmincepies worked! My water broke 10 hours later. It brought PAIN but by the time my water broke I was already 6cm.. from there it all went easier. I know it’s late just thought I’d update you hahah. Thanks for your answer!
