Can I leave a frozen turkey in the boot of my car all day?

Working today but need to get the turkey. They didn't have the size I needed in my local supermarket so I'm trying one of the three next to my work.

If I picked it up this morning would it be ok left in the boot all day? It's 7° outside and frozen solid.

Yeah, that's fine. www.britishturkey.co.uk/cooking/defrosting-and-storing.html It will be between fridge and cool room so you will need to use a bit of estimation in the thawing calculations but if you err on 'fridge' for safety you should be fine.

Just make sure you bring a tray lined with newspaper or similar to keep it in, in case it drips.

I assume you will then put it in the fridge when you get home to continue the defrost for Christmas day? If so, yes, that sounds okay to me.

Yep it'll go straight into the fridge at about 5/5.30
