14 weeks pregnant and bleeding

Fuck. 14+5 and light bleeding (brown discharge and some watery red blood) started yesterday evening, seems to be ongoing. Midwife said to call in the morning once the epu is open but that they can't really do anything anyway. Any handholds/reassurance? Worried sick about worst case.

The EPU should be able to do a scan and tell you if everything is OK.

It's perfectly possible to bleed in pregnancy and it not be a sign that things have gone wrong, particularly uf you're past 12 weeks, and particularly if you've already had a scan and all was well.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

So sorry tentative. There's no way to know what's happening until you get in contact w EPU - although at 14 weeks are you not under midwife/hospital care (I'm in Ireland so know it's different).

If you've had no previous symptoms, at 14 weeks this could be a number of innocent things too but no way to know till you get scanned.

Sending you 💐

What time does the epu open? Hope you haven't got long to wait. I did have bleeds with my 2nd pregnancy and all went on to be fine.

AShaveAndAHarecutHalfPrice · 23/12/2019 07:38

Best of luck x

When I had my miscarriage there was a lot more than watery blood, so I hope you will be okay.

Two years later I bled again - a lot! That baby is now 22 years old, so it’s not always bad news.

Best of ky I.

Thanks for all your kind messages, they really helped this morning.

I called the midwife service when the epu opened (to get a referral), who told me I had to call labour ward, who told me to call epu, who told me I had to be referred by a midwife...! So after going round the houses the midwives have referred me and I have a scan but not til the 28th because of Christmas. I couldn't wait that long so luckily I was able to get a private scan this afternoon which showed the baby looks fine and I have a hematoma which could be the cause of the bleeding.

Feeling relieved that baby looked ok and hoping for a restful Christmas before the appointment on the 28th.
