Changing email address

Please tell me your pitfalls of changing your email address or better still how to do it efficiently

Set up new email. Direct old email to new email. Use email.

Not that straight forward as I want to close the old one down. Thanks for the advice

Main downside is if there are accounts for other things linked to your email where you cannot change the primary username you basically need to set up those accounts again.

Other downside is it can be hard to get a decent email address via the free email providers now. I am soul.runner@yahoo as I was an early adopter. No chance of that now.

I get now is unbearable

Gmail is meant to be slightly better
