On Christmas Eve night I WILL look.up to the sky expectantly and get butterflies in my tummy.

My children 12 & 14 think it's hilarious and ridiculous.

Crazypanda85 · 22/12/2019 20:55

Laugh anytime someone says the name Dick/Willy etc and then try to cover it up with a cough.

BikeRunSki · 22/12/2019 20:55

Ride a bike for fun!
Point out fire engines with their sirens on (I once did this on the way to a site visit at work, when I had a very expensive important man from Defra with me)
Eat ice cream with a teaspoon to make it last longer.
Sleep halfway down the bed if I am scared/worried/upset.
Fart out loud

Mooey89 · 22/12/2019 20:56

Thumb 🙈

GoBackToPartyCity · 22/12/2019 20:58

I still sleep with my teddy. DH hates it!

Iwouldbecomplex · 22/12/2019 20:58

Sleep with my childhood teddy bear. I even take it on holiday with me. I'm 37.

lilmishap · 22/12/2019 21:01

@FGSJoanWhatsWrongWithYou Oh shit I do that one but whenever I see a TRRAAIINNN.
Thank you Stand By Me.

SuperMeerkat · 22/12/2019 21:02

If I can’t find something I jump up and down yelling 😆🤦‍♀️

Justmuddlingalong · 22/12/2019 21:04

Whenever we travel by train, just as we pull away from the platform, I very quietly say, "Choo Choo!" DP just rolls his eyes. 🙄

dogcatdog · 22/12/2019 21:06

25 and still sleep with my teddy. The same teddy I've had since I was baby and it comes with me whenever I stay out anywhere!

Kensie · 22/12/2019 21:07

Lick yoghurt off the lid

Have those cheap £1 Cadbury advent calendars every year and enjoy them

OhCumInMyFaceful · 22/12/2019 21:08

I still sleep with a stuffed toy. I can't sleep without it. This evening my daughter brought it into the living room and we had our tea and I got gravy down it, I put it straight into a quick wash but now it's still wet and I won't be able to sleep with it. Genuinely distressed (also genuinely asd, that's my excuse, I'm sticking with it, cough cough ahem ahem).

Throughabushbackwards · 22/12/2019 21:09

I eat buttered toast with white sugar sprinkled on it, accompanied by a small glass of milk. My favourite snack since I was a toddler.

U2HasTheEdge · 22/12/2019 21:11

Suck my thumb.

I have many teddies. Jellycats and collectors.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 22/12/2019 21:12

Still look in my mum's fridge to see what's there when I visit, Laugh at burps and farts,

I'm 38, married with a 1 year old child, I've not lived at home in 13 years!!

wanderings · 22/12/2019 21:14

Loads and loads of things! Lots of people lament growing up, but I think it's great to be able to think and do childish things, while having the autonomy of being an adult.

I love swimming pool waterslides, and will go down them again and again. I can't wait to try the new indoor water park in the Midlands, holding out until after Christmas!

@TheDuchessofDukeStreet I like Ladybird books too, and scout out the old ones in charity shops.

I like to wear childish shoes, such as elasticated plimsolls, Velcro trainers, or Mary Janes (the "Red or Dead" style). Also onesies (not in public though) - I'm a bit sad that they weren't a thing when I was a child. I haven't yet tried wearing dungarees though.

I get really excited about my presents; only three days to go! Before my birthday or Christmas, I wind my DH up with "pleeeeeease will you tell me what they are??!", like I did with my parents. He teases and indulges me by wrapping them in front of me, which I love, but there's something about it that's really unfair: I can't see what they are, because I'm blindfolded!!!! Xmas Sad Actually this was my idea, and is a long-standing tradition of ours.

A bit less funny is that I'm a bad loser of games: I curse and mutter if my netball team is losing a game badly, and I avoid the high-stakes games such as Monopoly.

aggitatedstate · 22/12/2019 21:15

Suck my thumb. 42 year old strong female apparently

Thefaceofboe · 22/12/2019 21:16

Suck my thumb. Not just when I’m going to sleep but I do it when I’m watching tele, on MN Wink and sometimes when I’m driving if I’m tired. My mum says I do it more now than I did when I was little (I’m 25)

Thefaceofboe · 22/12/2019 21:17

@aggitatedstate this thread has made me happy I’m not the only adult thumb sucker!

Verily1 · 22/12/2019 21:19

Watch teen movies.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 22/12/2019 21:20

Most things that involve farts and pop make me laugh. I'm very suited mother to three boys.

runninguphills · 22/12/2019 21:21

When eating at home - I always use the kids plastic IKEA fork, spoon or knife.

When eating in my management job work or in a restaurant - I'll use usual grown up crockery....

Winterdaysarehere · 22/12/2019 21:21

Go in a huff!!

Thelnebriati · 22/12/2019 21:27

Keep my food separate on the plate.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 22/12/2019 21:27

On the DLR (docklands light railway) I like to sit at the front where the buttons and handbrake are and pretend I’m driving (I don’t press the buttons) when ds was little could act it out more which was very enjoyable more so for me

Pull faces behind people’s back and stick two fingers up (when no one else can see)

Giggle at the word aroused - I work in MH with patients prone to outbursts it’s a word often used (I’m not the only one)

Giggle at farts and many things I really shouldn’t do now I am a grown up (ds loves Have You Been Framed and often genuinely laugh along too)

Make sure no teddies/stuffed toys are left sitting alone so they have another teddy to chat to when I am not around

Make sure wardrobes and drawers are closed before sleeping - who knows what’s hiding in there that can come out at night
