Can't sleep

Can't sleep tonight and wondered if anyone else was about?

I had post natal insomnia and it was a really dark time. Please pm if you need anything. After a few false starts I was prescribed amitriptyline and it saved my life. All good now.

Taking antidepressants for the first time is daunting, I was very worried about side effects. But I ended up with none, and the benefits were huge. Have you taken your first dose?

@Winkywoop no I'm starting tomorrow, the side effects list is terrifying! The doctor was keen for me to get a good sleep but I'm worried the guilt might make me feel worse so I'm on the fence with sleeping tablets.

I'd start with the anti Ds if you're not sure about the sleeping tablets. I'd be ok taking them if someone else was at home but wouldn't take them if on my own with DS and he is 2 now.

@fligglepige DH looked after him last night and slept for 9 hours solid. I feel great, I've not slept for any more than 2 since I fell pregnant.

@Winkywoop good days bad days. DS has been diagnosed with reflux and thrush so not helping with getting any sleep. Poor wee guy.
I'm doing what I can to help myself too, getting outside even just to pop to the shops. Thanks for asking.
