Emergency chair problem

Holymolymackerel · 21/12/2019 20:22

I've had to borrow two dining room chairs from my dm for Christmas day to supplement our own.

They stink of cigarettes. We don't and never have smoked, she does a lot.

I wiped the wooden parts with bleachy water and sprayed the fabric seat with febreze. Put them in the back garden but brought them in because it started raining.

It's not worked. Any ideas please?

bicarbonate of soda sprinkled on seats.

wash the wooden bits really well, frined had to scrub kitchen doors in smokers flat.

Cover the fabric with bicarbonate of soda. Really cover it. Then leave for 24 hours. Hoover off. It should help a lot.

Mycil athletes foot power stops teenage trainers stinking so it should deal with smoky chairs.

Wipe the woodwork with vinegar and upholstery sprinkle with bicarbonate of soda.

Sugar soap might work.

Sugar soap is very abrasive. You could ruin the chairs.

Buy some cheap folding chairs from argos before you ruin someone elses property
